Ryan's outlook on raising Lillian

Ok....so my cousin Abby posts about Leah's quotes of the day. I think I am going to start with Ryan's questions of the day.

The other day Ryan asked what the line was that mommy's have on their chest. This one was a surprise. I told her it was called cleavage and she said "Why do mommy's have cleavage." At this point, my answer is "That's what mommy's have."

Heather told me to reroute her thinking process and go the scientific route. "Cleavage is a type of rock foliation," That is the teacher in her. :)

Then this morning, this is how it went:

Ryan: "Is Lillian going to sleep in a crib?"
Mommy: "Yes. We will put the other side of your bed back on and raise the mattress to make her crib."
Ryan: "But she will sleep in your room at first, right?"
Mommy: "Yes, b/c I will have to get up and give her milk when she cries."
Ryan: "NO Mommy! You will call me and I WILL give her the bottle. You will call me by saying RYAN, LILLIAN IS CRYING. And then you will get the bottle out of the fridge and I will give it to Lillian."

I LOVE this about her. I have never once told her she was going to have to help us or told her that she has to be a big girl and make sure she is there when we need her. I want her to "want" to help and she has always said that she will be the one to give her the bottle or get the diapers. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful, sweet, kind hearted little girl. Now we just have to make sure Lillian is too.
