Lillian 12 weeks/ Sleeping well

Lillian is 12 weeks. She is doing so much better from the bronchiolitis she had at 10 weeks. She was coughing and congested and I had to stay home with her the first Friday she was in daycare. We also had to take her to the after hours clinic for a small breathing treatment. They didn't suction her out, but when they sent us to Children's Legacy, they did. The after hours wanted her to be monitored and Phillip and I both agreed it was for the best.

They suctioned all the mucus out and watched her oxygen levels. After getting there around 9:30pm, we left at 2am to come home.

She is so much better and slept from 8pm to 3:30am last night.

Ryan is the BEST big sister. She lets me know if Lillian is asleep or awake in the car. She has to kiss her every day after school. She tells everyone about her little sister. She would tell people she was sick or that she is getting better.

Makes my heart melt how sweet this girl is.

Lillian's new bumbo from Pretty Granma. She liked it, but fussed after a few minutes. She is still pretty little and gets tired.

The Friday of her first full week of school. I will put her in her crib if she is asleep when we get there. She is doing so well.

Our little diva!!!!

Snowflake

Eddie did not show up this year. Snowflake came to visit Ryan this year.

Ryan LOVED having a girl Elf on a Shelf and even put her on the mantel every night before bed.

Snowflake even got into Ryan's bed with her the night of her seizure. She wanted to make sure Ryan was ok. And when Ryan woke up, the look on her face and excitement in her voice was priceless.

These are some of the things that Snowflake did this year.

Got into the candy

Put one of Lillian's diapers on and got a bottle

Rode Ryan's Barbie's bike on the shelf! (This one was her favorite I think)

Snowflake opened Ryan's toothpaste and put it on her toothbrush.

There were other things Snowflake did this year, but for the life of me I can't remember.

Christmas.....a little out of order and a late blog

Christmas 2013 was a great one. Well, Ryan got sick but other than that the girls racked it in.

We went to Grand Prairie for the Reeder Christmas Dec 21st. Ryan was doing fine until she said her stomach hurt. I figured it was hurting b/c of all the junk she had been eating. But that wasn't the case. She went to take a nap and ended up throwing up. She had never thrown up in her 5 years of life. I know...very weird. She was so intrigued (in a weird way) that she told everyone.

She did have a fever over at GrandMary's house. So Aunt Barbara got in the shower with her after she got sick again and tried to get her fever down. I am not sure what the temp was or even if it had come down, but we gave her medicine and watched her.

We took her home and that night she had a seizure. Phillip was AWESOME. He held her, got in the bath with her, we got her fever down without having the ambulance or ER involved and got her back to normal.

She didn't get to go to the Finigan Christmas :(. Phillip stayed home with her and I took Lilly to Aunt Lindas. Grammy wasn't there either as she was on bed rest from a first of two surgeries.

Lillian is going to school

Lillian is now at Willow Bend Learning Center with Ryan. She started on January 13th. She did really well every day when I dropped her off.

I was afraid that since we have to take them out of the car seat and put them in a bouncer, she would wake up and cry and want a bottle. However, I put her in her crib and she stayed asleep.

We had been letting her sleep in a swing or bouncer b/c she was little and whatever got us all the most sleep was what we wanted. So when I put her on her back in her crib at school, I was afraid she would wake up. But she did great.

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3

This is Ryan's first day of school 2009. They both started when they were 9/10 weeks old.

The afternoon of day 3 is when she started getting congested. However, I took her in Thursday b/c I thought it might be a small cold from being at daycare for the first time.

Well, come Thursday evening she had gotten pretty bad and that's when I took her to the Dr and they said she had bronchiolitis. Poor thing also had to go to Children's ER on the following Saturday night.

As of now, almost 2 weeks later she is better with a small cough and little congestion. She does have some, but it's mostly after she sleeps.

If you haven't heard of the Nose Frida, look it up. It's the most gross concept ever, but it works.

Catching up...

Where has the time gone?

Yes, I haven’t blogged in a while. I need to b/c I have printed out almost all of the books from Ryan’s first few years and what a fun read. It’s been interesting to go back and read about when Ryan was 3 months and younger to compare to Lillian.

Ryan loves her sister so much. She always lets me know if she is awake or asleep in the car. (I never ask, she just offers the information.)  Ryan also “shhhes” Lillian like I do when Lillian is crying. I am so amazed at how Ryan is with her sister.

Ryan and Lillian went to the Dr at the same time…Ryan’s 5 year and Lilly’s 2 month. Ryan was in the 80th %tile for height and weight. Lillian was in the 30th %tile for her height and weight. I think I might have total opposites.

I can’t believe Ryan is 5 years old. She is so sweet and loves people. She will go up to ANYONE
(yes, could be good or bad) and ask them their name. We went to Grant’s soccer game, went up to a man and randomly asked if the lady sitting next to him was his wife. And nope….. she wasn’t.

She loves to read and asks for a book every night. She isn’t reading yet, but knows some words and knows how to spell almost all of her colors out loud. She also loves to play in her room and play with her dolls. Role playing is an everyday thing. She will act out with her dolls like they are sisters or cousins and makes up stories. She also likes to play with her IXL (from Nana 2 years ago) and her tablet.
Her favorite colors are still purple and pink. She has come to love mushrooms which she will eat raw. She also loves cooked onions. Sugar is still a favorite, but fruit will win over all if we remind her that we have it. Frozen pineapple and mango are the latest favorites.

Lillian is such a sweet girl. She has already rolled over about 3 times from her tummy to her back. The first time she did was at 7 weeks. I have tried to get the video on here, but haven't been able to. Maybe someday I can get it to work. She loves tummy time and getting strong.
Her favorite thing to do is to stick her tongue out at you and smile. If you do it back to her, she will smile real big. I do remember Ryan doing that too (picture below in the red and white headband. That was March 2009.)

Lillian has been sick recently. I decided to take a week to do for myself before going back to work when both girls were at daycare. Lilly lasted 4 days and then got bronciolitis. She stayed home with me Friday, the next Monday which was MLK Day and then that Tuesday just to make sure she got rest. The cough got a little worse, which we were told it would, on Saturday Jan 18th. Phillip and I decided to take her to the after hours clinic which then lead to us going to Children’s Hosp ER.

She received a tiny breathing treatment at the after hours clinic, but that’s about it. The ER suctioned her out really good and monitored her oxygen levels which went down just a bit when she went to sleep. However, they stabilized and we didn’t have to get admitted.

These last 11 weeks have been tough and some with not a lot of sleep, but adding Lillian to our family has been the best decision we have ever made.

Ryan 2009 loves to stick tongue out too.

Lilly gives three snaps for her sister!

I am not a bow head mom, but had to put this bow headband on her.

In December, our church had "Night at Bethlehem" and Lillian was baby Jesus and we were Mary and Joseph. Ryan was an angel and went around singing carols.

Happy 5 year old

Our little elf! School project they made.

She found herself on the tree and had to have her picture taken next to it.
